The certification is a simple processes for both residents and non-residents of Maine.
Certification is available to all U.S. Citizens. Your permit allows concealed carry in up to 30 states for Maine residents and 28 states for non-residents.

Maine Residents and Non-Residents
If you’re a Maine resident, your permit will be honored in the following 31 states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming
The Maine non-resident Permit is available to U.S. citizens in all 50 states and allows you to carry concealed in the following 29 states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming
*11 of the states listed above only allow concealed carry for residents or non-residents with a permit who are 21 years of age or older:
Arizona, Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia, West Virginia
** Some non-resident states require their residents to obtain their home state permit if they wish to carry concealed legally in their home state. Without your home state permit you can still travel legally concealed in the other states.
